Galerie Gastou

Featuring a façade in sparkling terrazzo - an architectural masterpiece from Ettore Sottsass - the Galerie Yves Gastou was established in 1986. Specializing in the decorative arts of the 20th century, Gastou's Parisian gallery was the home of the first exhibitions in France of the 1980's masters of design, such as the Memphis group, Shiro Kuramata, and Ron Arad. Like great decorators such as Henri Samuel, Gastou confronted the works of these designers with those of the major creators of the 1940s to 1970s, with such creators as André Arbus, Gilbert Poillerat, Philippe Hiquily, Ado Chale, and Paul Evans.

Today, the galerie continues its search of mixing and eclecticism by confronting the 20th century masters of design with the designers of the 21st such as Agnès Debizet, Béatrice Serre, Emmanuel Jonckers, and Emmanuel Babled, forever searching to push the frontiers of furniture and sculpture.
