Founded in 2022 by Jonathan Stene and Elena Alexopoulos, the French-Greek studio Stene Alexopoulos develops projects with a delicate and poetic architectural language that combines precision with a sculptural vision of space.
Based between Paris and Athens, Jonathan and Elena draw inspiration from the Greek capital, where the ancient meets the contemporary, to create singular interiors with a Mediterranean atmosphere.
Stene Alexopoulos approaches each project as a bespoke composition, where volumes are carefully shaped and materials are selected for their ability to tell a story. Material always plays a central role, determining the color palette through its natural tones. It is through material that architecture takes form and finds meaning.
The duo is inspired by both modernism and brutalism, in the spirit of Carlo Scarpa, while embracing the purity of antique forms. In this perspective, they place particular importance on proportions, aesthetics, and functionality, creating a visual harmony that is both balanced and refined.
In line with their architectural approach, Stene Alexopoulos designs custom furniture for each project. They combine brutalist lines with precious materials to create a harmonious dialogue between functionality and poetry.
Each project is conceived as a whole, with a strong curatorial dimension. Stene Alexopoulos carefully selects objects and artworks to create warm interiors that tell an intimate and vibrant story.
