AFTER BACH

Toyine Sellers’ passion for weaving emerged during her time working as an interior designer with Peter Marino, who played a pivotal role in guiding her toward the next phase of her career. In 2010, she founded her weaving atelier in France, where she produces high-end, made-to-order textiles for the international interior design market under the brandname TOYINE.

Based in the Vercors region, all of TOYINE’s creations are woven using the finest locally sourced and dyed silk, linen, wool, cotton, fancy yarns, and leather in their 1800m² atelier. Each fabric is a unique blend of materials, reflecting Toyine’s personal inspiration and, in the case of custom commissions, the vision of her clients. Fibers are often custom-produced to align with Toyine Sellers’ specific creative direction, combining multiple yarn types in unexpected and innovative ways. With the support of her highly skilled team of weavers, she designs and manufactures distinctive, made-to-order fabrics, handwoven rugs, handmade pillows, and throws, as well as other bespoke pieces.

Toyine views her creations as works of art, crafted to captivate and evoke memories, emotions, and dreams—much as they do for her during the creative process. Her experiences, nature, art, and food are her inspiration. Like a very curious explorer, she continually observes the world around her, which she then translates into woven pieces that will adorn some of the world’s most beautiful interiors and furnishings. Toyine's textiles are recognised by the AD Top 100 list and Elle Decor's A-List for their radiance, textural quality, material variety, and striking combination of colours, which evoke abstract paintings and variegated landscapes.
